How to use the JSON Schema Validator
- Paste the JSON Schema in the first box and the JSON document in the second. The report updates as you type.
- The draft is taken from $schema; choose one explicitly if your schema has no $schema.
- Each error shows the path of the failing value (e.g. /tags/1), the schema keyword that failed and where it is in the schema.
Privacy and limitations
- Your data is processed on your device and is not uploaded to any server.
- Remote $ref URLs are not downloaded.
- The $dynamicRef keyword of draft 2020-12 is not supported by the validator; $ref, $defs and $anchor are.
- Validation runs in your browser without compiling code, so very large documents may take a moment.
Frequently asked questions
Are formats such as "email" and "date-time" checked?
Yes. Common formats (date, time, date-time, email, hostname, ipv4, ipv6, uri, uuid, regex and more) are validated.
Can my schema reference other files?
Only references inside the same schema (e.g. "#/$defs/address") work. Remote $ref URLs are never fetched; paste those definitions into $defs instead.
